At last got a chance to try out the 'new' Starboard Carve 123 against which I'd traded in the 310.

Got planing a couple of times but in all not a good session. It was dam hard work all the time, and every planing run carried the penalty of an upwind slog to get back. The Carve felt very 'light' and not really comfortable over the waves, even though the chop was slight . Don't know if it's the board, or just me more used to the older 310 (RIP). Also found the footstraps a tad on the small side, and were so far outboard that my heels would drag in the water if not careful. Also got tired too quickly, so all in all a disappointing first session on my Home Turf this year.
